I am hiring a PRESIDENT (to take care of my future)

2. I have a 2 job resumes and applications (No party affliations)

3. I asked myself, who am I going to hire?

4. One resume is the name of NOYNOY AQUINO and the second resume is GIBO
TEODORO.

5. Now, I am reading the resume of NOYNOY AQUINO and in his resume,

LEGISLATIVE PERFORMANCE

1. 9 years as congressman and 3 years as senator

2. Bills filled: 8 (Including Tarlac Day 2005)

3. Bills passed: ZERO

4. Very quiet and prefer to stay at the side rather than engage in
discussion (No Legislation to speak off)

EXECUTIVE PERFORMANCE

1. Never run a city; never run a business (no leadership to speak off)

2. Never lead the people in crisis because he prefer to keep quiet.

3. The least experience among the 8 candidate.

WORK EXPERIENCE

1. Retail Sales Supervisor - Nike Shoes

2. Assistant for advertising and promotion- Mondragon (Owned by Cory's
Friend who owes her a favor)

3. VP Best Security Corp (Family owned)

4. Field Service Manager - Azucarera (Family owned)

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

1. Ateneo de Manila - AB Economic

6. Then, I am reading the resume of GIBO TEODORO and in his resume,

LEGISLATIVE PERFORMANCE

1. 9 years as congressman

2. Bills filled: 113

3. Bills co-authored: 200

4. Bills passed into law: 12

5. Bills passed in congress but pending in senate: 65

6. Assistant Majority Leader (Leadership experience)

EXECUTIVE PERFORMANCE

1. Secretary of National Defense

2. NDCC Chief

WORK EXPERIENCE

1. Lawyer, Estilleto Mendoza Law Firm

2. Founder, Evercrest Golf and Country Club

3. Chairman and CEO Suricon Resource Corp (Gotesco Owned)

4. Licensed Commercial Pilot

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

1. De La Salle University - BS Commerce

2. UP Bachelor of Laws

3. Dean's Medal of Academic Excellence

4. Bar Topnotcher: No.1

5. New York Bar Passer

6. Harvard University - Master of Laws

7. Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from West Negros University Bacolod

7. After reading the resumes (dont look at party affiliation), GIBO TEODORO
has way better experience, with competence, charisma, character and better
platform.

8. Why GIBO?

CHARACTER
---------------------------------------------------------------

How the candidates handle their campaign speaks volume on how they will
handle this nation. It’s sad to see that this campaign period, though
already in the 21st century, is still much uncivilized. Someone said it’s
the dirtiest campaign since 1960s. Campaigning for the presidency should
not be fueled by hatred or anger. It shouldn’t be focused on mudslinging or
maligning your opponents. The way other presidentiable’s handle their
campaign is very insulting to the Filipinos. I think we deserve more than
the negative campaigning they are throwing daily at our face through the
mainstream media. How can these presidentiables bring positive change if
their campaigns are fueled by hate, anger, and mudslinging?

“For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.”
Matthew 12:34

Before the campaign started, I recall that these candidates promised to be
always positive in their campaigns. Above all them, only Gibo stood to this
promise. Until now, he stands on his promise and has executed positive
campaigning. He refrained from putting down his opponents by saying bad
things against them. Even though he’s been targeted from within his own
party and from without, he still refuse to break his own principle of
positive campaigning. He indeed embodies a new breed of politics.

“A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding
holds his tongue.”
Proverbs 11:12

Though Gibo is not a biblical Christian, his campaign showed christian
traits...not driven by hatred, no mudslinging, no badmouthing, very
professional. I remember the Good Samaritan story. It wasn't the Jews who
were declared righteous, but the Samaritan. Why? Because his acts are
righteous.

“Gibo maintains the highest form of professionalism in his campaign.”
– REP. CYNTHIA VILLAR (Wife of Presidentiable Manny Villar)
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1384925307040&ref=share

“Teodoro is the only presidential candidate with the three important
attributes a good president must have, integrity, competence and character”
– BISHOP OSCAR CRUZ (a known GMA critic)
http://gibo.ph/updatefull.aspx?key=hTJHb6hTvttNWkRc8CLLf7n+ySFtHSouFlTuCNvYONczGm/ru+UYyQ==

---------------------------------------------------------------
COMPETENCE
---------------------------------------------------------------

“Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes,
and I will make them heads over you.”
Deuteronomy 1:13

It’s sad to know that numerous people used to trade intelligence,
knowledge, and ability over popularity and some empty slogan. Yet the Bible
made a great emphasis on these things in choosing leaders. First above all
requirements in bagging this top job must be competence. In all job
applications, competence is the default priority requirement. We don’t just
choose someone who will come up and say great words which are not backed up
by their track records.

Obviously, among the 8 presidentiables, the most competent is Gibo. It’s
very clear that even blind people can see that he’s the brightest among
them all. Yes, even his opponents acknowledge this.

Look at what his fellow public officials and top personalities are saying
about Gibo:

“Dependable, thoroughly professional, incomparably competent…”
– Former PRESIDENT FIDEL V. His platform is crystal clear and
realistic. He does not suffer from the messianic disease which infected the
other candidates. They claim to be greater than Jesus. They claim to
eradicate poverty and corruption in six years which even Jesus wasn't able
to and can't do in this present world. He needs to make a new earth to make
that happen. Erase corruption and poverty? Those are pure LIES. No one,
when you read the Bible, can do that in this fallen world. They promise big
words without clear platform on how to bring progress in this country.

Instead of laying their platforms, the “leading” presidentiables are
banking on Pres. Gloria Arroyo’s low rating. It is funny that these
candidates should be thankful to PGMA because without her “bad reputation”,
they have nothing to base their candidacy.

I thoroughly understand that you can’t lead people without a vision and a
clear plan on how to fulfill that vision. Empty rhetoric will lead you to
nowhere. This nation if led by someone without a vision and a plan will
only be reduced to chaos. That is why the candidate’s vision and platforms
are very crucial in choosing whom to vote.

Did you ever give enough time and effort just to know your chosen
candidate’s vision and platform? Did you ever compare it to the other
candidates?

“Mr. Teodoro pointed out specific programs, specific goals and specific
time lines to achieve such goals. He’s very articulate... we think he’s
very good."
– ALBERTO A. He used to inspire people to go beyond the status quo, to
go beyond which is mediocre.

In building this nation, unity is of utmost importance. We need a leader
who can unite us together and lead us forward to our great destiny as a
nation. Most of the presidentiables are very divisive. And most of them
have already entered into a verbal war against each other. How can they
unite this nation if they have planted much division right now in their
campaigns? The only one who has the biggest chance to unite this nation is
the one who is able to restrain himself from resorting to bad-mouthing,
mudslinging, hatred and anger. And that is Gibo.

---------------------------------------------------------------
How about PGMA?
---------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, majority of people know in their hearts that indeed Gibo is the
most qualified for the presidency. The only thing which holds them back is
his association with President Gloria M. Arroyo. It is highly proven; even
acknowledged by his opponents that Gibo’s integrity is untainted. To judge
him just because he is under the administration is totally unfair. If the
same standard of judgment be used against all of us, then we will never be
chosen for any kind of job. Why? Because I bet all of us have one way or
the other have “evil” associations.Jesus was with Judas for more than 3
years. Does it mean Jesus equals Judas? This only needs minimal common
sense to arrive at the right conclusion.

MY CONCLUSION:

As a student, I was thought that before making any decisions, or hiring a
person, weigh all the credentials and who among the applicants has the
tools and programs that can lead to better tomorrow. Decide whom you
thinks is the greatest with regards to character, competence, platform, and
charisma rather than being tossed by every wind that comes along.

Think, which is more important, TO HIRE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB? or TO
HIRE THE WRONG PERSON FOR THE JOB?

lets hire the RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB not HIRE A PERSON BECAUSE HE WAS
THROWN BY EMOTIONS. Lets hire a person with substance not style.

Tough time requires strong leadership and there is not time for
on-the-job-training.

As for me, I’m placing my vote to Sec. Gilbert Teodoro, Jr. I can say he is
indeed a rare kind in Philippine politics. Win or lose, I don’t care. At
least I have a clear conscience that I voted the best man for the job. At
least I won’t be having some kind of guilt and regret when our country is
again under the leadership of incompetent ones. Actually it is never Gibo’s
loss when he loses. It is the country’s loss.

IF YOU CARE FOR MY FUTURE AND WE SHARE THE SAME VIEW, PLEASE HELP ME
PASSED-ON THIS EMAIL.

LASTLY:

1. I dont hire a person because his accomplishment is being a son of former
senator and president.

2. I dont hire a person because my emotion dictates more than my rational
being.

3. If we hire a person without experience to take care of our future, what
do we get in return?

It is like you own a company, do you trust a person to manage your
company without experience? or with experience?

100% you will tell me that I will hire a person WITH EXPERIENCE.

4. I am young but I wont trust a person TO TAKE CARE OF MY FUTURE because
his mom just died, emotions are high and we let him become president.

5. He has "clean image" because he prefer to say at the side, he prefer to
just keep silent. Maybe if he become president, he will just be as silent
as when he was a congressman and senator.

7. He should have walk his talk not talk and forget.

Vote and cast the RIGHT candidates…

Of Religion and Politics in May 2010 Election

Here are the FACTS:

Here comes election again in the Philippines, and there’s a religious group whose support is desperately sought by candidates who wants to increase their chance of winning. And why not? That religious group boasts up to 2 Million registered voters comprising 3% of the entire voting population. And even more interesting is the bloc voting command following. The religious group votes solidly on the endorsed candidates. The past elections shows 70 to 80% of the members really vote for the one endorsed by their leader.

You may argue that 3% is such a small difference but in close matches, the groups’ bloc vote may spell the name of the game. Yes, that group has grown to be a powerful influence during elections.

Here is my OPINION:

I asked one of my friends who is a member of that religious group and he mentioned a reason why he will follow their leader’s endorsement. And the reason is: It will be SIN to God if he didn't. That is based on their belief that their leader is the sent by God.

I will admit that I don’t fully understand why they have such a strong following. But based on my knowledge of the Bible, I had these questions in my mind:

Why would Jesus Christ decline the offer to make him King of Israelites? It would be a really good idea if he will be king because of his attitude and his abilities.

John 6:14-15 (New International Version)
14After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world." 15Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.

Does this Bible passage shows Christ as an example of separation of Church and State?

One more thing…

I just noticed that those countries in which religion and state are clearly separated have a more peaceful politics and have better election process. For example: United States.

Let me know you thoughts…

The Philippine Media: Trustworthy?

Disclaimer: I am not referring to ALL media individuals. I am referring to the Media as a group.

I’ve been observing for several years now how the major media networks in the Philippines behave. My conclusion? The Media’s credibility and trustworthiness is decreasing. The Media, who claims to be the defender of truth and of the people, has abused its power and influence. Why do I arrive at that conclusion? Here are my reasons.

First, some media groups and individual journalists are biased in their way of reporting simple news. There are many ways of how you can sensationalize the news and how you could embed “opinionated” content to ordinary news. You can see this when they make “leading” headlines or headlines that “conclude” instead of relaying the summary of the story. I also noticed that instead of telling the story as it was, they usually insert words that show their side of opinion. When you report an event, just say what happened. There’s a commentary program where you can voice out your opinion. Don’t insert it with the news.

Second, during elections like this year’s presidential election, you can always see some bias in how some cover the campaign of each candidate. Instead of giving them equal coverage, some media groups give more emphasis to one candidate than the others. How much did they pay for the airtime?

Third, the Media has become 99% business and 1% public service. During the time of the famous scandal of some Filipino celebrities, the Media took more emphasis to it instead of doing more important things. When criticized by some concerned people, they just answer: It’s what the people like. Yes, Media in the Philippines is a huge business, a huge money source and it will sell things that are of more demand rather than of more importance. How much did they earn from advertisement during the time when that scandal is on its peak of controversy?

The Media is a powerful entity in the Philippines. They are very influential on how the next generation of the Filipinos would be molded. Is the Philippine Media trustworthy? Let me know your thoughts.

Still Concerned With the Philippines

The election is coming. The term of the current president is coming to an end. A new administration will be emerging. Will it bring hope? Will it bring prosperity and end the poverty in the Philippines?

Yes, it may bring hope but hope is futile if not fulfilled. Hope is just a potential that is useless until realized.
Prosperity is a result and result will just take place if there is an action. Will the next administration do the right action? I personally believe that the country’s prosperity is a system issue. You cannot just blame it to the government. The government is but the reflection of the people. If you see corruption in the government, then you are actually seeing the people. Government officials were in fact one of the people.

We are a democratic country. We choose people among us and empower them to lead us. We call them president, mayors, senators etc. If the government is corrupt, it means that the people are corrupt. If we are angry to the government then we are angry to ourselves. I’m not talking here of persons as individuals. I’m referring to the majority. The majority or the dominating spirit among the Filipino people is corrupt.

I think the issue of corruption is deeply rooted to our cultural orientation. And it will not change in six years even though we elected a good leader. It should be a cultural upheaval. It should be a change of mind to the majority of people. It may not necessarily start with the person of the government. I admit though that the country’s influential people like our elected leaders can be of strong influence. The Philippines future is in the hands of the Filipinos ourselves.

Are we proud to be a Filipino? Are we proud of being unable to accept defeat? Are we proud of thinking for ourselves only and not for our country men? Are we proud to be bias to our family members even though doing so will violate fairness and justice? Are we proud to be always looking for the government to take care of our needs? Are we proud of our principles? Are we proud of our values?

I believe that the Filipino culture has its good qualities but I also believe that we have cultural thinking and practices that keep us from progressing. It’s like a weight tied to our knees that slows us down. Admit it, WE ARE STUCK! And it’s our fault. We have to realize that or we will still believe that we are great and Filipinos were the best in the world. We must not keep a blind eye on the defective spots of our culture.

Are we proud to be Filipinos? Is this what we want the Filipinos to be? Is this what we want the Philippines to be?

I’m not proud to be a Filipino. I want to change the current Filipino thinking. I am still concerned with the Philippines and this is not the Philippines that I wanted to be.

Why 7 Opinions?

You may wonder about the title of this weblog: 7 Opinions. Well, here’s the reason:

Seven has been symbolically used to denote completeness or infinity. I chose 7 Opinions to reflect my vision for this blog: my way of expressing my opinions completely without hesitation.

But of course, I will still have limits. I will try to avoid, as much as I can, offending or otherwise undermining other people. That can be difficult and I would like to give in advance my sincerest apology if ever you found something that is offensive, discriminatory, or hurtful in nature.

Again, I want to stress that 7 Opinions is primarily for me but I want also to share this to everybody whether you share my views or not. You can post your own opinions through comments or just let me know if you would like to post an article. You can always challenge my views but take note that although there’s no RIGHT or WRONG opinion, I believe that there is a PROPER and IMPROPER way of expressing it.

I also want to maintain the integrity and truthfulness of this blog. I want my readers to clearly see whether the information I present here is a PROVEN FACT, SPECULATION, GENERAL ASSUMPTION or JUST A MERE GUESS. I will take full responsibility to the content of 7 Opinions Blog.

Introducing Lerpe and the 7 Opinions Blog

You can call me “Lerpe”. I cannot expound more regarding the origin of my name but I want to make it clear that it’s not in any manner related to being a leper or leprosy.

I am a Filipino in mid twenties, single and unmarried. I am currently working for a private company. I am a Christian by faith but I recently decided to be OPEN to any religious views.

I want to keep my identity at bay. I want this blog to be part of my SECRETS. People love secrets as you may realize and I’m one of them.

My vision of this blog is to be my online briefcase of my secret opinions. I have lots of opinion on many topics but I decided to keep some of them for very personal reasons. You may consider me coward because I hide some of my views, but FEAR may not be the only reason for doing so. I decided to keep some of my opinions and viewpoints to myself to keep peace or to avoid hurting the feelings of people close to me.

Also, please take note that English is not my mother tongue so please bear with my English. If you find something confusing in my writing, don’t hesitate to clarify with me through comments or email.

You can freely express your views by commenting on posted articles. But please take note that I may force to delete comments if I found it to be either SPAM or VIOLATING the rights of others. I am a supporter of human rights but I believe that you can only practice your RIGHTS long as you do not VIOLATE other’s RIGHTS.

Lastly, this blog is primarily for ME but I also want to share it with others. I personally believe that each person has something unique to share to others.

PROLOGUE

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." (New International Version, NIV)
